The 47th edition of Hong Kong Fashion Week at the starting blocks

The biggest fashion event in the Asian continent is taking place on January 18th to 21st with more than 1,500 exhibitors from around the world
The 47th edition of HKTDC Hong Kong Fashion Week focused on next Autumn/Winter collections will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from the 18th to the 21st of January 2016. Approximately 1,500 international exhibitors from all over the world will take part to the event which will be divided into more than ten areas dedicated to specific themes in order to meet the buyers’ different needs.
Given the growing interest in children’s fashion, there will be a ‘Infant & Children’s Wear’ section. Also available the new ‘Knitwear’ and ‘Women’s wear’ areas. But the most significant growth is for the men’s fashion segment, for which the demand has increased by 70% since 1998. Hence the area dedicated to ‘Men in Style’. Other specific areas include ‘Activewear & Swimwear’, ‘Bridal & Evening Wear’, ‘Cashmere & Wool’, ’Emporium de Mode’.
The fashion week program includes a series of seminars, aimed at keeping buyers and exhibitors up-to-date, as well as a wide range of fashion shows and presentations. There is also space for young designers: the past winners and finalists of the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest (YDC) will have the opportunity to present their collections and to showcase their creativity in front of a global audience at ‘Fashionally Men’s Collection’.
Last but not least, new name and time slot for World Boutique Hong Kong. Now called Centrestage, it will be held from the 7th to the 10th of September 2016, rather than at the same time as Hong Kong Fashion Week as previously, to be better aligned with the international fashion calendar. Centrestage is a platform for Asian and international ready-to-wear brands and labels targeting selected Far East media, buyers and end consumers.
