Armory by Fredrikson Stallard, yet another beautiful collection by Atelier Swarovski

Bold, light, architectural, elegant. But also intriguing, powerful, feminine, emotive. This, and much, much more, is ‘Armory’, the Spring/Summer 2016 jewellery collection by Fredrikson Stallard for Atelier Swarovski.

The collection comprises of eleven pieces including necklaces, cuffs, earrings, rings, immediately recognisable by the unique multifaceted crystals, developed by the renowned design duo with Swarovski technicians in 2013, framed within a metal web.

Fredrikson Stallard explained: “Each piece…grows around the crystal stone…so it remains translucent and light. The collection portrays the idea of safekeeping something precious…it is an empowering and glamorous armour that is very contemporary and wearable”. Nadja Swarovski commented: “Fredrikson Stallard are leading lights of British avant-garde design whose work with Swarovski over the years captures the spirit of adventure and experimentation…their work is always powerful, emotionally engaging and celebrates the beauty of crystal”.

Since Patrik Fredrikson and Ian Stallard started collaborating in 1995, the duo established itself as one of the leading avant-garde design studios in Britain thanks to their cutting-edge, apparently simple but highly emotional and engaging furniture and product designs.

Recently launched in London during an exclusive event held at the Fredriksson Stallard headquarters in Clerkenwell, one of London’s creative hubs, ’Armory’ is yet another chapter of a fruitful collaboration started in 2007 with the ‘Pandora’ chandelier and followed in 2011 by the ‘Iris’ structures, in 2013 by the ‘Spaceflower’ jewellery collection and the ‘Prologue’ installation, by the ‘Eden’ chamber at the Kristallwelten, the Swarovski museum in Austria that reopened in April 2015 in occasion of the brand’s 120th anniversary.

Since 2007 Atelier Swarovski collaborates with some of most talented and forward-looking established and emerging designers from across the globe such as Karl Lagerfeld, Hussein Chalayan, Viktor & Rolf, Maison Martin Margiela, but also Christopher Kane, Jason Wu, Mary Katrantzou, Rodarte. Zaha Hadid, Tord Boontje, Arik Levy are some of the design stars who also collaborated to the project. Atelier Swarovski is just another chapter of a very long history of collaborations between Swarovski and fashion and style icons such as Coco Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli, Christian Dior.

The Atelier Swarovksi by Fredrikson Stallard ‘Armory’ collection will be available from March 2016 in selected Swarovski stores and independent retailers across the world
