Carvico, live from the bottom of the Mediterranean with Healthy Seas and Cousteau Divers

640,000 tons of fishing nets are lost or deliberately abandoned by fishermen in the open sea and cause the death of over 100,000 marine animals, every year.

On June 8th, for World Oceans Day, Carvico SpA, an Italian textile company specialized in the production of technical fabrics for beachwear, sportswear, and outerwear, which has always been attentive towards environmental sustainability,  will support the #SaveYourBreath world event.

Throughout the day, volunteer divers from Ghost Fishing, in collaboration with Cousteau Divers, and with the support of Healthy Seas– an NGO that recovers fishing nets found abandoned in oceans – will scan the bottom of the sea off the island of Santorini in search of fishing nets. These will then be sent to Aquafil SpA  to be transformed into 100% recycled Econyl® polyamide yarn, used by Carvico for manufacturing eco-sustainable fabrics from the VITA fabrics line.

An important event that can be followed in live streaming: https://www.facebook.com/events/169288210455119/)

Because together we can!
