Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is the new creative director for the United Colors of Benetton menswear and womenswear collections. The French designer made his debut in the fashion world in 1968, collaborating with his mother in creating a brand. He then continued his journey, giving way to trends, such as the anti-fashion movement and the alternative use of objects to decorate garments . In 1974, he co-founded the Iceberg brand and, four years later, he founded the eponymous fashion house, which he left in 2016. Over the decades, he has also worked with Max Mara, Ellesse, Courrèges, Rossignol, and Le Coq Sportif. His style, characterized by strong colors and pop prints, is very similar to that of the Italian brand. “We are delighted to welcome Jean-Charles de Castelbajac to our big family,”  stated United Colors of Benetton’s President, Luciano Benetton, in an official note.  “His experience, his charisma, and his ability to predict tomorrow’s trends, both in society and in fashion, will be a great resource for our brand.”
