Coach launches a limited edition Summer collection of ready-to-wear and accessories dedicated to the legendary Elvis Presley

 

The limited edition collection puts on stage a dreamer who subverts the American dream with references stemming from counterculture that are immediately part of the same counterculture. The symbol of rebellion and the sense of belonging to a movement, either as a Beatnik or as an Elvis fan, are mixed in with the typical Coach New York style. The collection challenges and modifies the traditional conventions of luxury by proposing instead the pure and streamlined craftsmanship of handmade artefacts and artworks from Santa Fe.

 

The creative director Stuart Vevers explained: “I think that Elvis was a rebel in every possible sense. His music and his style challenged and opposed tradition and became authentic American style icons. The glamorous and rebellious youths who were inspired by Elvis represent this season the same spirit of individuality of the Coach girl”. Nick Woodehouse, President and CMO of Autenthic Brands Groups (ABG) that owns the Elvis Presley trademark, said: “We are extremely happy that Coach is honouring Elvis The King and celebrating the influence that he still has on American popular culture”.
