Henrik Vibskov: an A/W 2017 collection inspired by information overload
Games of monochromatic contrasts alongside bold and colourful high impact graphics and patterns inspired by labels and packaging from yesteryear. Horizontal stripes and multicolour geometric patterns. Knitwear with 3D effects and pleated printed garments alongside boxy tops and neat jackets. References to loungewear, for example, in the soft wide-legged trousers. Long coats, oversize down jackets, lightweight cagoule with half sleeves.
Titled ‘The Jaw Nuts Piece’, the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection by Henrik Vibskov is a comment on the unstoppable flow of information and misinformation that is currently driving human beings to the brink of insanity.
The talented avant-garde Danish designer successfully and ingeniously referenced jazz posters and early twentieth century and 1950’s commercial packaging for his unique and original eye-catching prints and motifs.
