Ekaterini: Hellenic jewellery
Ekaterini Kantzikis with her eponymous brand offers jewels designed and handmade in Greece
Born in Athens, the designer Ekaterini Kantzikis successfully managed to turn a hobby into a profitable profession in the 1990’s when she first began to test her skills. As a matter of fact, her first creation dates back to when she was 12 when she transformed one of her mother’s bracelets into something completely different!
Passionate about travelling, Ekaterini has visited many places in the world, always on the lookout for inspiration and for new materials: metals, semi-precious stones, crystals, silks, lace, woods, fabrics, leathers and many more. Connected to a specific sense of humour, her imagination translates into clean shapes where unique designs, even when following the trends of the moment, are always faithful to the Ekaterini signature style.
Her jewels are characterised by highly innovative names and by materials that make them immediately recognisable. “I like different styles. The same object may look different if worn by a different woman. I want my creations to take shape through the person who wears them and who injects all of her personality in them. The jewels are like a game, like a love story…” revealed the designer.
As well as collaborating with other Greek fashion designers, Ekaterini often appears in fashion shows, TV series, shows, films, not to mention the numerous features in the consumer and trade press. To her credit also the successful business cooperation with the Lemonis Group of Companies started in 1995. Every year the brand takes part to the ‘Ellinikes Dimiourgies’ trade show and also boasts a long-standing collaboration as a designer with Swarovski. It is always presents to the most important international trade shows, like Bijorcha in Paris and International Exhibition of Jewellery Asia’s Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair in Hong Kong, where it showcases its jewellery collection. The brand has stores in Athens and Mykonos as well as an e-commerce shop on the web.
