For digital kids

Registration to the BolognaRagazzi Digital Award, which among other things rewards the most innovative apps designed for a young audience, is officially open.

 

Every year the BolognaRagazzi Digital Award rewards the best digital products and the most innovative apps designed for children and for teenagers. In addition to the three main categories, i.e. fiction, non-fiction and augmented reality, the 2018 edition introduces a new category dedicated to the big screen in collaboration with the renowned Cineteca di Bologna as part of the European initiative ABCinema Project. The 2018 winners will be decreed by a new jury of international experts in each specific field including Warren Buckleitner, the jury president from the US publication Children’s Technology Review, Sylvia van Ommen, the Dutch illustrator and app developer, Lucy Gill, the British researcher and digital content consultant, and Bruno Ruffilli, the Italian journalist from the daily newspaper La Stampa and digital technology expert.

Another new development of the 2018 edition is the Dust or Magic Masterclass, an authentic “full immersion” in the digital world for children led by important international experts taking place on Sunday March 25th 2018. Among the various topics discussed, a great deal of attention will be paid to the expanding audio-book market and to the latest news on Augmented Reality  technology. At the end of the day, a dinner for all participants in the heart of Bologna where, as the late Italian singer Lucio Dalla sang, “not even a child can get lost”.

Meanwhile, the third edition of the Global Kids Connect international conference, organized by the Publishers Weekly and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, took place with flattering success in New York on December 4th. The latest trends and the most up-to-date data concerning the publishing sector were discussed by the most authoritative experts in the sector.
