Portugal Fashion / Porto – Spring –Summer 2019

Portugal Fashion, 43rd edition held in the charming city of Porto (in Portugal), at the location 'Alfandega do Porto', is organized by ANJE (National Association of Young Entrepreneurs) and ATP (Association of Textiles and Clothing of Portugal), promoters of the image and the national creativity, also in collaboration with the Milan and Paris, New York and London, Madrid and Barcelona, Istanbul and Vienna catwalks. The themes of men's fashion for the upcoming Spring-Summer 2019 reinterpret the urban universe in a streetwear couture key with an emphasis on traditional tailoring and manual work.Three days of kermesse, with over 30 interesting names among which we have chosen our favorites for menswear.   Alexandra Moura, also on the calendar in London Fashion Week, emphasizes the artistic construction and the social and cultural impact of her fashion work. David Catalan evokes the fabulous' 50s, the legendary King Creole style and the golden era of Hollywood, reworked with humor and sporty look, in a refined color palette, distinguishing marks of the brand, also present at Pitti Immagine Uomo and AltaRoma events, in Italy. Estelita Mendonca, a young talent who founded the label in 2010, translates and combines design and communication linked with strong messages, which can also be heard on AltaRoma and London kermesse. Hugo Costa rediscovers the craftaman art of gold, worked with luxurious materials, dedicated to unique, almost imperfect, singular pieces telling their own personal history. Ines Torcato, treasures the dichotomies of perfection and imperfection, weakness and strength, visible and invisible, translated into an alchemical balance between the classics, deconstructed and colored, and an experimental aesthetic language, already showed at Pitti Immagine 'SuperTalents' section.   Julio Torcato, for thirty years, reinterprets the urban universe, in a mix among classic tailoring, workwear and sportswear, combined with the latest technologies. Maria Gambina models volumes and cuts, details of reversible and versatile garments, built with originally manual traditional processes, dear to the current theme of sustainability. Miguel Vieira, starts with colors to evoke a Pop and Vintage taste, declined into suits, jackets and graphic pieces, in which he combines classic tailoring and sporting details, developing a very strong strategic urban aesthetic, also presented in New York and Milan catwalks. Nuno Baltazar creates unique items sold in his atelier-shop, often in special collaborations with the music, cinema, theater and dance world; these prêt-à-porter collections could bealso seen at the Paris Fashion Week. Nycole, a brand founded and designed by Tânia Nicole, enhances oversized and psychedelic silhouette, with a rock and roll twist inspired by the music band of the '70s matched with a sporty taste such as vintage baseball uniforms. <BT>
