Issey Miyake debuts in Italy
The opening of the first flagship store is scheduled for February 2017 in a historic building in via Bagutta in the famous Quadrilatero della Moda in Milan
Issey Miyake is pleased to announce the opening in February next year of its first flagship store in Italy. The store will be located in the historic Palazzo Reina in via Bagutta 12 in the heart of the Quadrilatero della Moda in Milan.
Built between 1826 and 1831 by the Reina family, the Palazzo became the property of the City of Milan in 1921 until a real estate company bought it in 2014 and started a faithful restoration respectful of the origins and the historical importance of the building. Issey Miyake is proud to be the first to occupy this building so full of history.
The interior design project will be curated by Tokujin Yoshioka. Masakatsu Nagatani, president of the Japanese brand, said: “Milan’s international vocation and undisputed reputation in design have made it a natural choice for our first flagship store in Italy: we are delighted to be able to debut in Italy in this beautiful space”.
