Stella McCartney launches herself into the wedding segment, going green at an approachable price.
The British designer has presented “Made with Love”, her first bridal collection for Spring 2019. Her 17 pieces confirm the usual “green” soul of her brand with to the use of sustainable viscose, which combines a modern version of traditional fabrics used in the fashion industry, including lace and chiffon. The first Stella McCartney “Made with Love” piece is inspired by the bespoke reception dress she created for Meghan Markel, the Duchess of Sussex, for her wedding. The dresses are also distinguished by their accessible prices, and each one has a personal message from the designer embroidered on a blue tag, following the timeless tradition that brides have to wear something blue. The collection is available this month in select Stella McCartney boutiques, on Net-a-Porter, and in several department stores, including Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Harrods, and Selfridges. The Stella McCartney “Made with Love” collection will grow over time with new styles and accessories.
