Wrangler: a capsule collection between past and present

A capsule collection that no only creates an oneiric bridge between past and present, more specifically between the 1970’s and the upbeat mood of contemporary culture, but also also serves the purpose of previewing the Spring/Summer 2018 collection by Wrangler.

Aptly named ‘Retro Nights’, it is going to be available in November and is the last chapter of the brand 70th anniversary celebrations.

This new capsule collection embraces a grungy and dark, yet sophisticated, mood in line with today’s pop and upbeat culture. At its core, the exploration of the countless facets linked to the worlds of denim and baseball that enrich the brand signature details like the contrast wool and leather sleeves, the cloth patches, the rainbow palette of warm tones ranging from wine to beige, the daring logos either printed or sewn on retro style garments.

A bold twist for the jeans that revisit the most characteristic  trends of the 1970’s through new styles, as in the case of the Retro Slim, or through new combinations of cloths and treatments, like the new Larston & Spencer with selvedge details and the Star Jeans with a big star-shaped detail on the back.

The grunge references are rather obvious thanks the use of velvet, both for making entire garments and for the star-shaped details, almost omnipresent throughout the collection.
