The CNA Federmoda national competition for young designers is underway

On 24th January, at the round table dedicated to a broad debate on the values of the Italian fashion system “Creativity and Culture: the roots of made in Italy”, CNA Federmoda launched the XXIX Concorso Nazionale Professione Moda Giovani Stilisti (National Young Fashion Designers Competition) – RMI 2019. The competition, curated by Roberto Corbelli, artistic director of the event, is open to young students who have not yet reached the age of 25 by 31st December.

The deadline for submitting applications is 6th April 2019. Participation is by way of sending original proposals of patterns on one or more of six planned sections: Clothing; Children’s clothing; Furs; Knitwear; Lingerie and beachwear; Accessories; Leather goods and Footwear. For the winner of the sections, there are scholarships and internships in companies of the sector, in addition to the opportunity of participating at Progetto N1 Nice One, organized in collaboration with The One Milano and the Federazione Moda Italia di Confcommercio.

The overall winner will be awarded the Special Lectra Prize for Design, consisting of a Kaledo™ Style licence with training worth €6,000. Furthermore, all the finalists are expected to participate in a Master in Fashion Design and Manufacture during the final phase scheduled for the next summer edition of Altaroma, in collaboration with I.A.C.D.E. Italia (International Association of Clothing Designers) and led by leading experts in the fashion sector. Among other partners of the Competition are: AIP (Italian fur Association), Max Mara, Forza Giovane, Freudenberg, Macpi, Paladini Lingerie, Giovanni Cavagna and Monna Lisa.
