Cariaggi embraces sustainability as a corporate value

Yarn producers in the Marche region, a symbol of Made in Italy excellence worldwide and an international point of reference in the production of fine yarns, make sustainability a morally-driven obligation. Environmental awareness, social interests, choices and development in respect of future generations is what Cariaggi believes to be both a dutiful commitment and an opportunity that must not be ignored, so much so that it also embraces these issues in the design of its new corporate structure. In fact, Cariaggi recently inaugurated a new building, an area of about 15,000 square meters near the company’s historic headquarters in Cagli. The building was built taking into account the containment of energy consumption, therefore, materials with a high insulating power were used: the building is covered with a ventilated wall and has high-yield window frames with a double-chambered glass. The systems work at low temperatures and are able to suction suspended dust through floor channels. To add to all this is also a system that can recover rainwater, which is then reused in the production cycle. The company has invested in programs and measures aimed at improving environmental impact and reducing energy consumption, in particular through the reduction of CO2 emissions deriving from the industrial process.

The architectural aspect was also taken into account, and treated in the smallest details, with priority given to the comfort of the employees who, through large windows, now have a 360 degree view of the beautiful Apennine landscape. A roof-top garden with perennial herbaceous plants was also created, directly accessible from the laboratories. The alternation of gravel, eco-wood, and vegetation transforms the external surface into a texture that metaphorically imitates the warp-weft design of fabrics. This new structure is completely in line with the spirit of safeguarding the territory that distinguishes Cariaggi’s philosophy.
