Carpi, the capital of Moda Makers
Carpi, a charming town situated in the province of Modena, in the Emilia Romagna region of Italy – known for its prosperous, renowned tradition in the field of textiles and clothing, will be the hub of Italian fashion for three days. From May 16th to 18th, the third edition of Moda Makers: the big event for the textile district of Carpi, which will host 48 companies with over 9,000 creations in tailoring, knitwear, cut and sew, shirts, and outerwear will be held in the beautiful medieval setting of Piazzale Re Astolfo, where “the best of the best” in menswear and womenswear for Spring-Summer 2018 will be presented. The objective of the organizers is to exceed last year’s 800 participants, with visitors from over 40 countries worldwide.
The event is organized by the Expo Modena Consortium on behalf of its sponsoring associations: CNA, Confindustria, and Confartigianato Lapam, the collaboration of Promec and Carpi Fashion System. The project is coordinated by the City of Carpi, along with a significant economic contribution by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio of the city of Carpi. The event will be reserved exclusively for professionals in the fashion sector and will be an excellent opportunity to take stock and evaluate the state of the fashion industry, as well as view – and why not – order the most interesting, enticing, curious or just trendy and commercial innovations well in advance for next year’s summery season. Much is expected from the arrival of foreign buyers, who are usually traditionally and literally in love with the “Made in Italy” that Carpi is capable of representing to its fullest.
