Chic Shanghai is confirmed as a worldwide reference for fashion

The fourth Autumn edition of the Chic Shanghai fair, which took place in September, registered a number of visitors that exceeded 58,400 despite the fact that it took place during a holiday period for the country. This was near to the number of the previous Autumn edition. CHIC’s spring edition in March always welcomes more than 100.000 visitors.mThe president of Chic, Chen Dapeng, who is also Executive Vice President for CNGA, believes that the meaning of Made in China has changed, since ever increasing quality and innovation have been the key factors that have made the products here competitive and capable of meeting the needs of the market. The issue of sustainability played a crucial role in this context, and Chic supported it with the Sustainable Development Zone, associated with the most famous
Chinese sportswear brand, Li Ning, which was the first company in China to be affiliated with the Chemical Control Group, as part of the ZDHC (Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals), and that presented its own fashion show. 719 exhibitors, with 825 brands from 14 countries and regions, including Korea, Italy, France, Australia, Poland, Great Britain, and many others, presented their collections dedicated to next summer and also some Fast Fashion with products from the current season. The fair was divided into 10 sectors that covered every branch of the fashion world: Urban View, New Look, Impulse, Fashion, Journey, Heritage, Secret, Stars, Bags & Shoes, Chic Young Blood, Superior Factory, and Future Link. Chinese womenswear has, year after year, increased in sales by 5.7%, reaching a turnover of
116.93 billion euro in 2017 and, according to Euromonitor, it will reach 139 in 2021. These are very positive signals that underline the importance of the event on an international level.
