Collection 2017-1 by Peet Dullaert: Coral Elegance
With his Collection 2017-1, Peet Dullaert goes beyond the established borders of fashion seasons to meet the needs of modern customers. Inspired by Jacques Cousteau’s underwater adventures, the young Dutch designer recalls and raises awareness of the breath-taking but fragile beauty of coral reefs with delicately elegant garments designed with wavy lines. Dullaert’s awareness of environmentalist issues is also demonstrated by the several projects that he supports through the sales of his clothing.
The garments are created by the technique of draping, directly on the mannequin, in order to be able to feel and shape the movement of the fabric, and create a pure connection between the garment and the wearer. The collection was shot in the atelier of French sculptor Philippe Morel, whose work echoes Dullaert’s exploration of organic shapes and human anatomy.
