Ewers: trendy socks for 150 years
The pioneer of the German company, Carl Ewers, began producing hosiery in 1866 in the heart of Sauerland
The first stockings to which Carl Ewers gave life in the second half of the nineteenth century were made of an industrial fabric based on a thread system and were produced with a sewing machine. 
Soon Carl exclusively specialized in the creation of socks: one of its most popular models then was called the ‘Rauhbein’ and was particularly robust and functional.
Today, after 150 years, the company has focused mainly on socks for the young ones. 
The products are made with the highest level of quality in all manufacturing aspects and follow the latest and most fashionable trends. One of the best sellers for the brand is the ‘Flipside‘, an adhering snug-fit sock with two different patterns on the legs, as well as the ‘Playsocks‘, a sock with rubber bottom, a patent that Ewers often uses as a replacement for home slippers. The Teutonic brand has also achieved a further development, called the ‘Softstep’, equipped with an ergonomic sole that fully meets the needs of the smallest feet. The company’s range includes socks and stockings for babies and the new ‘gift box’.
To celebrate 150th anniversary of activity, Ewers Strümpfe Gmbh is investing in its future and planning a brand relaunch this summer.
“This plan is of the utmost importance and will be the core of our future life”, said the CEO Markus M. Henkel, “We would like to create a brand that is colourful, trendy, adorable and more and more attractive to our target audience. We will also launch new products that will demonstrate our ability to meet the desires and need of our customers.
The first of these items will be presented to fashion professionals this month at Pitti Bimbo in Florence: innovative products that show and offer our current particularly dynamic growth”. Other investments include a complete e-shopping website, an additional benefit for the end consumers and for business partners and another important step for expansion. Logistics will be optimized with a new inventory control system by which the workflow will always go hand in hand with the increased demand. “With these investments”, concluded Henkel, “Ewers will return to the glory of its early days, continuing to do whatever it takes to achieve non-stop success”.
