Francesco Scognamiglio Haute Couture spring summer 2018
During the AltaRoma event, Scognamiglio celebrated his creative journey with a fashion show, a career that began twenty years ago right in this same place. His style is dreamlike, deeply rooted in haute couture, as inferred in the details. Complex elaborations from an atelier, almost baroque, counterpose technical materials, supporting a vision that is more futuristic than contemporary, creating unusually interesting contrasts. Magnificent guipure lace stands out against very light tulle. A fairy-tale dress as a second skin, while white feathers define the contours of a delicate fourreau that vibrates with the slightest movement. Pleated ruffles, the true signature of the Maison, create effects resembling wings or fins for this female figure who enters a fantasy world.
