For the latest edition of Pitti Filati, Lanificio dell’Olivo welcomed clients and the press in the magical nighttime setting of Palazzo Budini Gattai in Piazza S.S. Annunziata in Florence. A garden party with a taste of summer, while winter 2019-20 was presented during the Exhibition. Creativity and imagination are the main ingredients of the Lanificio dell’Olivo collections, whose recipe is a blend of noble and natural fibres with innovative materials. The research and innovation are constant, in order to offer excellent quality yarns, which make up a fragrant bouquet with natural and brilliant nuances that redesign new style archetypes in an exchange between past and future. ‘High Living’ for a new interpretation of a noble and classic fibre like cashmere, which becomes unique when blended with others fibres in precious lightweight patterns. Voluminous, warm and resistant alpaca, in whose embrace the sensation of naturalness intensifies, gives absolute softness in a blend with mohair, both in the most graceful and in the most consistent weaves. And cotton, which breaks the seasonal barriers, accompanies everyday comfort with surprising refinement. A magnetic appeal is expressed in yarns that glow and glare, either rough or satin, in the faded or corroded effects or in the fluidity of almost vegetable shapes. The yarn becomes sophisticated, metallic, a luxury that remains discreet, a play of light and shadows for day and for evening.
