Happy birthday!!! Sneakers celebrate 100 years

Ginnika Expo: over 500 models of super limited edition sneakers

Which sneakershead hasn’t dreamed of sneaking into Michael Jordan’s locker room after a game to admire his famous shoes? A dream that can soon become reality thanks to Ginnika.

To celebrate the first 100 years of sneakers, the exhibition at the Ex Dogana in Rome, from June 10th to 11th, will take each every visitor into the NBA locker rooms where trainers, tank tops and other memorabilia belonging to the most iconic basketball players are displayed in a veritable 1970’s and 1980’s Sneakers Hall Of Fames.

This is just one section of Ginnika Expo, the show created by Luigi Grottini, a sportswear pioneer, and Giancarlo Sisti, an Italian athletics icon, who lent their collection pieces for an unprecedented  journey into the history of fashion, sports, customs and traditions.

The tale of a journey from 1917 to today includes the De Simone track trainers from 1938, the “Roma” by Valsport from 1960, the Killshot from 1985 and many other styles. More than 500 models, designed by international designers and artists, celebrate the most loved of all street style birthdays.
