The Pop Up Store by Homi Kids

The January edition of Homi, the trade show dedicated to lifestyle in Milan, gave a leading role to children and kids with the brand new initiative Pop Up Store. Curated by the Robert Cutty Agency, the project was based on the evolution of the classic store concept, according not only to constantly changing lifestyles, but also to the fact that shopping is becoming increasing experiential.

Lots of interesting proposals for a journey that combined aesthetics, fun and practicality with products and objects that cover a rather large stretch of time in the first stages of a child’s life, a fundamental time for developing positive affectivity, temperament and disposition.

Let’s start with homeware with solutions for the bedroom, furniture items including tables and accessories like those by PlanToys. Let’s follow with the crockery and cutlery for inside and outside use by Tescoma and the organic baby food by Babygnam, which last out of the fridge for up to 240 days. Let’s finish with the beautiful, practical, on-trend clothes made of organic yarns and materials by the likes of, for example, Emmis Klemmis.

Toys and games are indeed a must in any concept store for children. Soft, ecological, inspired by fairytales and designed to be used from the first moments of life like those by Ebulobo or Maileg. Or designed for the beach, but to be used elsewhere, as the award-winning accessories by Quut.

The use of cardboard for the world of children revealed itself to be very interesting: Liantonio Design showcased accessories and furnishings for kids developed from honeycomb cardboard. Last but certainly not least, the many new quality solutions for fun, creativity, school and education by Faber-Castell.
