A dinner invitation from Krizia

Thirty important guests gathered around a large round table set in the Spazio Krizia in via Manin in Milan…

An appointment maybe already foretold and very much expected. An invitation to those who are not forgotten and will always have a special place in the heart. In the Spazio Krizia in Milan a large round table set for a virtual dinner took the shape of a Round Table destined to grow and grow. An event that confirms the recent passing of the torch from an Italian lady full of passion to a passionate woman who is relaunching globally an original, unexpected, by all accounts unique “fashion story”.

Thirty important guests found themselves in a familiar place that have frequented for years. Words, thoughts, interest, desire, joy, knowledge, sentences like “Culture is not boredom, it is joy” that seem carved in stone. No to nostalgia for nostalgia’s sake and yes to the recognition of strong values, still vital today, and to the desire to start a new wonderful adventure. Dialogues, statements, proposals that look for the deepest essence of a brand rich with stimuli that go behind fashion’s DNA and so special to be able to make proudly international a specific time of Italian culture.

The evening was hosted with affectionate irony by the photographer Giovanni Gastel who has always been responsible for Krizia’s visual communication. Storylines with words like decency, beauty, vision, passion, friendship, retro taste from Gillo Dorfles, Mariuccia Casadio, Aldo Colonetti, Flavio Caroli. Andy Warhol was also evoked during the dinner after a visit to “his” pop Last Supper. Considerations on this first authentic “fuori salone”, which housed works by Ingo Maurer and Ron Arad, from Ico Migliore, Jacopo Foggini and Piero Pinto, architect, inventor and designer of Spazio Krizia. A great number of writers, actors, authors, Nobel prize winners have frequented Spazio Krizia: Vargas Llosa, Sting, Jane Fonda, Shirley MacLaine, Alice Walker, Michael Ende, David Leavitt, Ian McInerney, Gino Paoli and the late Umberto Eco who came with the American playwright Arthur Miller. The Autumn/Winter 2016 collection was presented during the last edition of Milan Fashion Week: strong, concise, consistent, it comprises of 16 looks for women who choose to live in the real world.
