Iris van Herpen

Sound waves evolve into dresses with geometric structures. Frequencies become graphic motifs. The soundtrack of the fashion show is a Zen melody performed by the musician, Kazuya Nagaya. “Seijaku” is the name of the collection, which means “finding serenity in chaos” in  Japanese. The designer continues in her stylistic development towards modern couture, creating a luminous prism around the body through transparent glass and silicone, all embellished by Swarovski drops. Japanese organza is minimized into  threads, five times thinner than a human strand of hair using the Shibori technique.
