The «Alternative» Collection by Calcaterra for Fall-Winter 2016/17

Daniele Calcaterra, born in 1973, of Milanese origin, but adopted by the city of Brescia, trains  in the field of fashion between Milan and the branches of the Istituto Moda e Design located throughout  Europe. An untiring inquirer of the new concept of femininity, with his Calcaterra line, he  accompanies his woman towards unexplored boundaries of temperament and sophistication.

“Alternative” is the name of his 2016/17 Fall-Winter Collection. “An ensemble of pieces taken from my memory” – states the designer – among “travels and faces that are always different and that pass before me every day”, with  shades and tones  that derive from elements of absolute naturalness: cement, stones, the color of bread, that of a dim sunset over a rough rock formation. The lines of the pieces created by Calcaterra glide over the body, as if duplicating the silhouette, or suddenly depart from the whirlwind of overly abundant volumes, while references of a  male wardrobe are recognizable in his selection of materials and fabrics – bold but precious, delicate but textural – among a series of contrasting notes that take shape within the atmosphere of a charm that is never banal.
