Maurizio Galimberti around Enrico Coveri exhibition

The internationally renowned photographer focuses on the world and the work of the great Italian designer

The Enrico Coveri Maison   is 45 years old: what better occasion for a artist’s reinterpretation of the enormous creative and style heritage by such an iconic Italian brand? The internationally renowned photographer Maurizio Galimberti was entrusted by the brand with the task of rereading its historic archives. An innovative and suggestive project that puts Galimberti in contact with the world of fashion for the first time in his career. And for the first time Coveri entrusts its world to the interpretation of a photographic lens. “I understood the extraordinary scope of the aesthetic/existential vision of Enrico Coveri, in between futurism and pop art. So powerful, so innovative, so full of energy that it has not yet exhausted all its potential, all its momentum”, comments Maurizio Galimberti who worked with Francesco Martini Coveri on the project. “For some time we have been wondering how to tell the story of Enrico Coveri the brand and Enrico Covery the man in a new way, in a way that we had not yet managed to find as yet. We lost ourselves in the archives without finding a way out. We needed someone to reread the Coveri world with different codes. When I met Maurizio Galimberti I understood immediately that he was the right person”, declares Francesco. The result? The missing pieces of a great designer, of which Galimberti has brought out the boyish sensibility and the deep bond with the family, in a journey that retraces Enrico’s steps on stage and behind the scene. The project includes fifty works that will merge in a traveling exhibition, which will be presented in Florence at Palazzo Coveri on June 12th 2018.
