Focusing on the story of seven premieres in seven different cities from 1642 to 1934, the “Opera: Passion, Power and Politics” exhibition summarises four centuries of the incredible history of opera through over 330 extraordinary objects. Such as, for example, Verdi’s original score for Il Nabucco (1842) and the costumes designed by Salvador Dalì for the 1949 stage “Salome” directed by Peter Brook. Organised in collaboration with the Royal Opera House in London, the first ever exhibition to explore opera with such a comprehensive and exhaustive approach is at the prestigious Victoria & Albert Museum in London, until 25th February 2018.
