Stone Island x Nike Golf: a collaboration with exciting features
Amidst dunes of sand and scenical magnetism dictated by the natural landscapes of Northern Ireland, have hosted the 18 holes of the most important golf tournaments of the World. The adverse weather conditions can severely compromise the performance and the concentration of the players; this is how Nike Golf’s answer was born, building different outdoor models characterized by the highly functional aesthetics of Stone Island, the ideal partner of the project.
Nike’s profound knowledge around the golf-world allowed the team to engineer their garments, designed for the freedom of movement during the swing. Every detail of the jacket is designed according to the response of the various needs that could arise in the field, such as specific pockets to hold balls, tees and gloves. The proverbial know-how of Stone Island has decreed the success of its first effective entry into the field, in one of the most noble sports in the world.
Striking colors and finishes are combined with the outer side in military-grade cotton satin, accompanied by a water-resistant, windproof and breathable performance membrane. Optimum temperature maintenance is guaranteed by adaptive fiber technology. The garments, presented in a palette of gray, turquoise and yellow, were presented during “The Open”: the tournament held at Royal Portrush from 18 to 21 July 2019.
