The fashion awards 2017. And the winners are…
The British Fashion Council reveals the finalists of The Fashion Awards 2017
Is Alessandro Michele, Raf Simons, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Phoebe Philo or Jonathan Anderson going to win the coveted title of Designer of the Year? Who will be awarded with the first prize as Best British Fashion Designer for Womenswear and who will be crowned as Best Menswear British Designer? Will the accessories category prize go to Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Loewe or Coach? Will Supreme, Off-White™, Vetements, Gosha Rubchiskiy or FENTY® PUMA® by Rihanna come first in the Urban Luxe Brand category? Who is the best model of 2017 and who is the best business leader this year?
Unfortunately we will have to wait until December 4th to find out who are the winners of The Fashion Awards 2017, the awards ceremony that takes place once a year in London in partnership with Swarovski. For the time being, we only know the names of the finalists who have been carefully selected by an international jury of 2000 fashion professionals from 38 different countries.
The five finalists for each of the nine different categories, four of which are dedicated to British designers, were announced at a press conference by Dame Natalie Massenet, chairman of the British Fashion Council and founder of Net-A-Porter, and by Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council.
Nadja Swarovski, whose brand is the main sponsor of The Fashion Awards 2017, commented: “These fantastic talents represent the very best of the global fashion industry,” adding “young designers are the heartbeat of our business: it is up to all of us all to foster and champion their vision”.
