THE NORTH OF ENGLAND LOOK
London is, without a doubt, the fashion capital of the British Isles. And yet it is undeniable that the North of England has played and is still playing a pivotal role in British fashion. As the ‘North: Identity, Photography, Fashion’ exhibition, at the Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool until March 17th, clearly and cleverly illustrates with a selection of images by worldwide renowned photographers such as Nick Knight, Glen Luchford, Corinne Day, David Sims, Alasdair McLellan and Christopher Moore. On display images of garments and accessories by international brands whose collections have been inspired by the North Of England aesthetics, or whose products are a staple of the North of England look, such as adidas, Raf Simons and Off-White™ as well as by established and emerging designers born and bred in the North of England such as Stephen Jones and Christopher Shannon.
