World of Fashion

One of the most awaited events of the Altaroma calendar has reached its 20th edition

With more than 600 guests and a select group of designers from around the globe, World of Fashion, created by Nino Graziano Luca, is an event that is always worth attending. Its subtitle, “Crossroads of an Encounter”, emphasizes the intent to promote a dialogue among cultures through fashion. Proof that this objective has been met is confirmed by the presence of sixty designers from 26 countries that have been guests of the event over the past few years: Egypt, Libya, Dubai, Qatar, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Colombia, Paraguay, Argentina, Albania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Thailand, South Africa, Tunisia, China, India, Palestine, Malta, Spain, Holland and, of course, Italy. “The World of Fashion – comments its organizer – launches a message of hope: a dialogue between cultures is possible when those who interact with each other “speak” the languages of fashion and the arts. A philosophy that has been confirmed over the years from backstage to the stage, from a perfect interaction among designers and the atmosphere among the audience”. Dutch fashion designer Addy van den Krommenacker, known to have created for many celebrities, was present with his The New Romantics collection, as was Massimiliano Giangrossi, well-known designer from the Marche region, with his line: La Rinascita di Venere – The Rebirth of Venus. Others included Libyan designer Raja El Rayes with garments related to the history of her land, Marcela De Cala, famous for her luxurious wedding dresses and a collection dedicated to the town of Altea and, finally, the youngest, Georgiana De Prisco, originally from Torre Del Greco, who brought pieces onto the catwalk she entirely designed and sewed herself. At the end of the evening, the greatly sought-after World of Fashion Awards for journalism, cinema, and television were presented.
