North Sails’ seamaster and lifestyle SS 18 preview collections

Ben Mears, the new global creative director, presents the anticipations of the next summer 2018 in North Sails, a trademark founded in 1957 by Lowell North, american sailor, olympic gold medalist and innovative engineer in creating the fastest sailing competition in the world.

The collection combines the strong sailing tradition of the brand with new technologies, a nineteenth-century mood with emphasis on surf and windsurfing, bright color blocks.

From the relaxation of coastal life in Newport, mexican landscapes, to the colorful San Diego, it combines technical and high performance items with daily lifestyle proposals.

Top technology tested by ‘sea samples’ coupled with metropolitan convenience, reworked even in the modern fitting and signed by the new logo that points to the origins.

North Sails is rooted in its core values ​​but is highly innovative in technology, research and development. Acquired in 2014 by Oakley Capital, an investment fund made by Peter Dubens, a british businessman and passionate sailor, boasts two major centers: the headquarter in Italy, Rapallo, and a Sail division in Nevada.

Driven by Paul Gautier, CEO of this new route, the brand will consolidate its positioning in single-brand stores, department stores and pop up stores, through e-commerce, in Italy and abroad, Europe and North America, as well as emerging markets.
