Turning a dream into reality: fashion, passion and young hopes at the Łódź Young Fashion Award
A swirling of emotions focused on fashion, young talents and future hopes. A creative milieu that has become synonymous with Łódź Young Fashion, the international contest focused on young designers between the ages of 18 and 30.
The announcement of the winner closed the last day of the event organised in the Polish city by the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts located in Łódź and by the Łódź Event Centre.
Started on October 18th, the four-day event included several different initiatives related to the world of fashion.
Focused on young international designers with such great passion and talent for fashion, the event and the award are supported by the entire city of Łódź and its population. Driven by the love for the profession, by passion and by vitality, this year’s theme was ‘Emotion”.
The aim of the prize is to promote talent and merit by providing help in starting a professional career to one of the fifteen young designers selected by the jury. Therefore each year the winner is awarded with 30,000 euro to start his or her own fashion business.
After the final catwalk show, which took place on Friday, October 21st, the winner was Chen Zhi, from China, who was awarded with the Manequine 2017 statuette. We can’t wait to see the winner’s next collection.
