‘Dancing in the Moonlight’, the Spring/Summer 2017 collection by Kids on the Moon, is inspired by the moon and by the moonlight that at night sheds light on dreams dreamt by young children. As the moon wakes them up and invites them to dance immersed in moonlight, the faint glow makes the silhouettes assume unreal semblance and changes the intensity of colours as undertones fade and slip away. When the dance is over, moonlight remains sovereign and dominates throughout as its fragments are captured in soft graded fabrics, light denims, délavé delicate jerseys. Big ruffles on the sleeves recall moths wings while interesting textures make shapes and silhouettes easy to match.
