Tradition: the added value of a leading Italian company

The Fall-Winter 2019/2020 Industria Italiana Filati and Accademia collections were inspired by over a century of the company’s experience in the industry. A reinterpretation of past knowledge, and a close relationship with the local territory, influence the raw materials used, giving them innovative and contemporary forms. New ideas, imaginative solutions, flexibility, and tradition can be found in the 60 yarns that make up these two lines of the collection. Mohairs, manufactured in full respect of people and animals, have a rather evident brushed look, both firm and stretch & comfort, in solid, melange or chanteclair colors, while alpacas are either pure or blended with wool, always enveloping like a warm embrace, reassuring, and classic. A new, very successful blend, requested by the market, is alpaca and mohair proposed in various aesthetics and plys. Wools are bouclé then brushed, or round and airy for type 3 knitting machines, and weights are very light, even when yarns have a considerable volume. The key concept of lightness is now applied to all yarns in their numerous interpretations, which is why the choices in the Airy line is so wide-ranging. Micro sequins tied with opaque lurex thread are bolder when they’re multicolored, and metallic threads, knots, and lurex take us back to the eccentric 80’s.
