The American Vintage Photography Prize 2018 goes to Sarah Mei Hermann

American Vintage, partner of the 33rd edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Accessories and Photography in Hyères, organized for the second year running the American Vintage Photography Prize. Each of the 10 finalists, selected by the Festival jury chaired by Bettina Rheims, presented a photograph portraying a selection of American Vintage pieces. Exhibited throughout the duration of the Festival, the 10 works are on show at the Tour des Templiers until May 27th. The American Vintage Photography Prize was won this year by the Dutch photographer Sarah Mei Hermann. Her shot represents the intimacy of family, friendship and sentimental ties that the artist captured during a trip in Xiamen in China. The prize consists of a € 15,000 award and of the opportunity to create a fashion photo shoot for the brand. In honour of the partnership with the Hyères Festival, American Vintage also created a special T-Shirt, inspired by the modern gardens that the architect Gabriel Guévrékian developed within Villa Noailles by using cubic shapes. Made of 100% cotton, the three-quarter sleeve T-shirt is unisex and oversize.
