Awarded the title by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella Silvia Stein Bocchese, President of the Maglificio Miles of Vicenza said: “I am very honored and moved by this recognition that took me by surprise. In such a special moment, it is a stimulus to react and overcome the difficulties of this moment. I am even more determined to continue, with the help and affection of my children who work alongside me in the company, determined to be an example for the many women who work in the fashion sector. ” In Vicenza in 1962 he founded the Miles company alongside her husband Giuseppe Bocchese, silk entrepreneur. With four workers and a few machines Silvia Stein Bocchese begins to make knitwear items in silk organzine, the raw material of the family silk factory. With a strong knowledge of four languages ​​and a resourcefulness that precedes the times, in 1969 he left for Paris to show his knitwear to Yves Saint Laurent. In the following years other important collaborations develop, among others with the brands Céline, Chloé, Alaïa and Sonia Rykiel, he works with the most important stylists, such as Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2013 the recognition of Confindustria Vicenza for the company’s 50 years of activity. In 2018, she was awarded the Talents du Luxe et de la Création prize in France for the Innovation category, which annually awards a prize to the best French and international luxury creators and protagonists. In 2019 the recognition for the Artisanal Excellence category in the context of the first edition of the Milano Finanza Supply Chain Awards. Silvia Stein Bocchese, member since 2008 of the Leonardo Committee, Italian Quality Committee is President of Maglificio Miles, with a turnover of around 26 million Euros and has 130 employees employed in the Vicenza office.
