Albert Watson , Fashion Portrait & Landscape

An exhibition on the famous Scottish photographer at the
museums of Palazzo dei Pio in Carpi, Modena

The museums of Palazzo dei Pio in Carpi, in the province of Modena, welcome “Albert Watson, Fashion, Portrait & Landscape”, an exhibition that includes more than one hundred images created between the 80s and 90s for the Blumarine advertising campaigns kept in the company archives in Carpi. In the Blumarine
area of the Museo della Città, you can admire the looksthat have been photographed by Watson over the years. Born in Edinburgh in 1942, his studies involved graphic design, television, filmography and photography, despite being blind in one eye since birth. He moved to the United States in 1970, at the
beginning of his career, and that was where his success egan. Today, he is considered one of the most prolific and most successful photographers worldwide, and Photo District News hasranked him among the 20 most influential in the world, alongwith Penn and Avedon. Watson has immortalized subjects in art, to fashion, and also nature, creating iconic and unforgettable images. Over 200 covers of Vogue and 40 of Rolling Stone
bear his signature. His most famous portraits include those of Alfred Hitchcock, Steve Jobs, Keith Richards, Clint Eastwood, and Barack Obama. Watson loves to travel and has shot natural and urban landscapes that have often represented an unlimited source of inspiration for him. He has also directed over 500 TV
commercials and created posters for famous films. His is a technical virtuosity, a unique visual language that follows its ownrules, starting from the concept of brightness to that particular meditative atmosphere that distinguishes his works.
