An unmissable appointment

All the news from the latest edition of the German trade show Gallery

The latest edition of Gallery, held in Düsseldorf last July, highlighted a number of Spring/Summer 2018 trends. Like, for example, a luscious tropical abundance,
summarised by a palette focused on orchid pink, gecko green, solar orange, sulphur yellow. Two other key trends are a minimalism inspired by Nordic design and a 1990’s revival. As the sportswear inspiration remains still very relevant, dresses are, unsurprisingly, the main product category. Focus on almost impalpable materials along- side lightweight jerseys and cottons and futuristic summer velvets. Warm earthy tones, light pastels, different shades of grey, denim blue, dark ginger and mulberry red played a significant role in most collections. Once again Gallery confirmed to be an unmissable appointment, as proved by the presence of almost 6,000 buyers, with a
significant increase of international visitors, especially from Great Britain, USA and even Australia, who were attracted by the new collections by 800 brands from
24 different countries. Gallery and Gallery SHOES, the satellite event that took place from August 27th to 29th also in Düsseldorf, are organised by Igedo, the German company that has been coordinating fashion trade fairs and fashion shows since 1949, as pointed out by Ulrike Kähler, Project Director of Gallery and Gallery SHOES with these words: “We have been organising international fashion trade shows for almost 70 years now and are familiar with the changing times and constantly adapting to the new needs and challenges of the industry”. The dates of the next edition of Gallery are from the 27th to the 29th of January while Gallery SHOES is taking place from the
11th to the 13rd of March 2018.
