Azzedine Alaia
A great little man
Sculpted dresses that made his pampered clients feel super sexy. Focal points: a bosom-lifting bustier, strategic zippers placed on feminine jackets, second-skin skirts. He was the first to use stretch fabrics. During those uproarious ‘80s, the image Azzedine Alaïa gave women was truly explosive. He abandoned the fashion stage in the early ‘90s, giving up the catwalk and preferring private showings. A reserved man, very attached to his friends, Azzedine left us with a quiet adieu.
