A returns to the world of high fashion
The Balmain maison is back on haute couture catwalks after 16 years. During a recent meeting, the brand’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, announced his intention to return to French fashion shows as early as next January. The last Balmain haute couture show dates back to 2002, when Oscar de la Renta was the artistic director. For his part, Rousteing already showed us last January what he’s capable of doing with high fashion when in Paris he presented a collection of 15 evening dresses entitled ‘44 rue François 1er’, the maison’s historic address. A spokesperson for the brand stated that the fashion show celebrating Balmain’s return to haute couture will be held in the new 150-square-meter single-brand store at 374 Faubourg St. Honoré on a date to be defined.
