Burberry chooses Vivienne Westwood

Burberry chooses Vivienne Westwood to create a collection of limited edition pieces that celebrate British style and heritage. Riccardo Tisci, creative director of the heritage luxury brand since March, involved the “queen of punk” for a series of items, available for purchase in December, in support of the non-profit organisation Cool Earth that works alongside rainforest communities to stop deforestation and its impact on climate change. “Vivienne Westwood was one of the first fashion designers who made me dream of becoming a fashion designer. When I started working with Burberry, I knew instantly that there would be an opportunity to create something with such a rebel, punk icon, perfect epitome of the British style that inspired many of us. I am incredibly proud of the fact that we will create together”, revealed the Italian designer. The first collection by Riccardo Tisci for Burberry will be unveiled in September. Andreas Kronthaler, Vivienne’s husband, is currently at the creative helm of Vivienne Westwood.
