The «no gender» collection of Miaoran for autumn-winter 2016/17

No definition of sex and style but a lot of multi-layered fabrics and kaleidoscopic amplitudes. Miaoran interprets the no gender code by playing with volumes and fits in between decomposed graphics and tonal over-layering, abstract symmetries and soft yardages. Design and comfort come together on the soft dry materials and on the opaque surfaces that absorb light with small concessions to shininess. Alpaca and stretched and padded wool, mixed with cotton or silk, alongside soft fabrics, thick yarns, Japanese denim. Towering coats wrap the body in its entirety. Textural caps dominate the head. Oversized trousers drop to the floor when they do not leave the ankles on show. Austere shirts shield every inch of skin, like an uniform. Scarves sculpt the silhouettes. Knitwear is thick, asymmetrical, multi-patterned. The colours range from black to solid blue, mossy green, slate grey through red burgundy, dark brown and nude tones.
