Chanel Haute Couture spring summer 2018

In Karl’s garden, superbly staged at the Grand Palais, everything was quite enchanting. Delicate wild roses and the sound of water flowing from a fountain were the backdrop for a runway show that retraced the greatest moments in fashion history, alternated with absolute modernity. Dresses with an early twentieth-century mood – something Proust and his friends would have liked – were followed by references to the court of Versailles, but also jumpsuits and mini-dresses with piquant sequins. The Chanel  Maison’s savoir-faire expresses itself in this context with all its virtue. Embroideries both quaint and extrusive, impalpable feathers, and cascades of crystals.
