Christophe Guillarmé – A personality who is out of the ordinary
The accomplished French designer, Christophe Guillarmé, presented his Spring/Summer 2017 collection during Paris Fashion Week, confirming his genius and creativity. “My style is noticeable at first sight. I‘m a real keeper of traditional creative approaches and exquisite finishings: my gowns are a mix between Glam’Rock and ‘couture’. My ultra feminine style shows the contemporary way of creating glamorous icons.” This is how the designer describes himself and, with his participation in various Fashion Weeks around the world, he has seen a rapid increase in an appreciation for both his label and his creations. Christophe Guillarmé’s new ready-to-wear luxury line – “Bloody Madone” carries forward his constant search for standing out among all others, both in the spirit of his collections, as well as in the extremely imaginative conception of his fashion shows. This time around, the designer chose Bloody Mary as his muse, appearing as a stylish ghost and eyes filled with blood-red tears. Yet, his collection also brings to mind the homonymous drink, named after the Queen herself. An awakening of the senses that resonates in the scarlet red of his pieces. It is precisely in this antithesis where Christophe Guillarmé counterposes the image of the Madonna – dressed in pleated white lace and floral prints – with her alter ego that prefers the retro glam of silver brocade, dresses with trains, or maxi dresses in Mikado silk. Through ethereal mermaid silhouettes or styles where black and white are joined together, the designer brings to life a new look for a femme fatale evening gown. Shoes and purses on the runway are creations by Carmen Steffens, while the jewelry is by Gil Neuhaus.
