The British designer will be the first woman to become artistic director for the fashion house after Riccardo Tisci’s recent farewell.
Givenchy has appointed Clare Waight Keller as its new artistic director. The British designer will be the first woman to fill this position, replacing Riccardo Tisci. The French brand communicated its decision through Instagram. Prior to the official announcement, a teaser was posted on the social network with an image of the founder, Hubert de Givenchy, followed by the quote: “True elegance comes with a natural gesture, an attitude in simplicity.” In addition to Instagram, it was simultaneously also announced on Facebook, Twitter, WeChat, and Weibo. Keller will officially take the helm of the brand on May 2nd and will open with the Spring Summer 2018 collection during Paris Fashion Week next October.
