Daniel Lee is Bottega Veneta new creative director

Bottega Veneta, the Italian luxury brand has appointed Daniel Lee as the new creative director from the 1st of July. The 32 year old British fashion designer, who recently took on the role of design director of Céline’s ready-to-wear, replaces Tomas Maier who leaves Bottega Veneta after 17 years. Daniel Lee graduated from Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London before working at Maison Margiela, Balenciaga and Donna Karan and joining Céline in 2012. “By entrusting the entire creative direction of Bottega Veneta to Daniel Lee, a young talented designer, Kering continues to place bold and courageous creativity at the centre of his strategy”, reads the official press release. François-Henri Pinault, the president and CEO at Kering, declared: ”It was the uniqueness of his vision inspired by a very personal creative approach to convince me that he would be the ideal interpreter for a new chapter in the history of the brand. His work is characterised by a great rigor, a commanding mastery of atelier expertise, a deep passion for materials and an energy that I can not wait to take shape at Bottega Veneta”.
