‘Divided We Fall’ by Iuter: connecting individuals for collective success
Fangs, bites, blood, scars: what immediately comes to mind is a truly terrifying scenario. But this is not the case. Because this is ‘Divided We Fall’, the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection by Iuter.
A disruptive intrinsic force is injected in every single garment of the new collection with the result that the wearer is exposed to infectious determination, grit, will to fight.
The combination of the strong appeal of the animal world with a human condition where individual subjectivity nourishes becomes a real strength: the herd, the pack, the group, the community.
In exploring the concept of collaboration for achieving success and for collective survival Iuter draws inspiration from what is the pack par excellence: one comprising of wolves.
The elaborate hand-designed graphics by Lisa Rampilli are screen printed on outerwear, T-shirts and sweatshirts. The original ‘Wolves’ jacquard instead features a pack of wolves in the process of attacking as a symbol of an intriguing animal force capable of transforming itself and of a daily conscious determination in line with one of the building stones of the collection: “Where there is unity, there is always victory”.
