Here is an original idea on how to spend Easter Monday with the family, in direct contact with nature in stunning locations, discovering and learning new surprising things. It is the Botanical Treasure Hunt by Grandi Giardini Italiani, a recreational and educational event aimed at families that will be held on Easter Monday, March 28th in 31 gardens part of the network of the most beautiful open to the public green spaces in Italy. “The Botanical Treasure Hunt” says Judith Wade, the founder of the association, “is now a fixture for adults and children and has always been very successful because it allows families to live in a different way a day traditionally devoted to city getaways, taking advantage instead of the first days of spring and of exploring nature in a joyful and playful way in some of the most beautiful gardens in Italy”. The event is dedicated to families and especially aimed at school age children between 6 to 12 years. In the participating gardens there will be guides or botany students to accompany the children in discovering the botanical world in a playful and fun way. In a sack, the leaves of trees and plants found in the park will be collected: the children in small groups will have to go in search of the plant from where the leaf comes from following clues provided by the guides. Once the tree is found, the guide will tell about its salient characteristics, origins and some curious facts in a simple and at the same time interesting way. While children will be engaged in treasure hunting, parents and younger siblings will be offered other activities, always focused on discovering gardens and nature. The gardens that will take part to this nice day out are in Piedmont, Lombardy, Trentino Alto Adige, Veneto, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Marche, Lazio, Campania and Sicily.
