The bright and bold menswear by Clara Martin
Inspired by the rites of passage of adolescence and in particular the prospect of facing adulthood, new found independence and fast approaching responsibilities, the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection by Clara Martin is a successful exercise in boxy, comfortable, slightly oversize shapes and volumes, mostly in matt lycra bonded to cotton jersey.
Martin also boldly played with block colours by introducing sorbet raspberry, bright yellow, baby blue in an otherwise neutral colour palette.
The result is a range of outerwear pieces, including a bomber jacket with new added details and a three-quarter length coat, very wide-legged drawstring trousers and padded sweatpants, chunky textured knits, slogan T-shirts and jumpers.
The 24 year old London designer debuted with her first collection in January 2014 after graduating from Middlesex University in London.
